How BodyParts Senior Fitness (BSF) Got Started
I was the caregiver for my mother-in-law for 7 years. When she 1st came to live with my husband & me, she was overweight & taking lots of medication. I invited her to participate in my fitness classes. Of course, there was resistance because she felt out of place. But everyone made her feel welcome when she got to the site. Also, she exercised at her own pace in the chair, which eventually evolved into a combination of standing for a while & sitting when she got tired and slowed down, yet she continued moving her BodyParts. Long story short, after a year of consistent movement, eating nutritional meals, drinking more water, getting proper rest, and socializing, I witnessed her no longer being diagnosed as Type II Diabetic!
Moreover, Grace Brantley started diversifying her routine to include line dancing. After a while, she did not wait for me to say it was time to exercise because she had already planned her day's engagement activity! Gracie passed away in 2000, when BSF began in her memory!
